Role Description The Assistant Manager role at Rockman Industries is a full-time, on-site position based in Arcot. The Assistant Manager will support daily plant and operational management, including planning and monitoring production activities, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and delivery standards. This role will assist in resource allocation, workflow optimization, and implementation of process improvements to meet performance targets and customer requirements. The Assistant Manager will prepare and review reports, track key performance indicators, and support compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines. The role also involves supervising team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and collaborating closely with senior leadership to drive operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Strong operational management and coordination skills, with experience in manufacturing or automotive environments.
- Ability to analyze data, monitor KPIs, and use problem-solving and decision-making skills to improve processes.
- Knowledge of production planning, quality systems, safety practices, and basic lean or continuous improvement concepts.
- Effective people management capabilities, including team supervision, performance follow-up, and cross-department collaboration.
- Proficient communication skills for clear reporting, stakeholder interaction, and documentation of processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Prior experience in auto-components, die casting, alloy wheels, or related heavy manufacturing is highly beneficial.
- Comfort working on-site in a plant environment and adaptability to shift-based or extended working hours when required.
