Role Description The Assistant Chemistry Teacher will support the lead Chemistry faculty in delivering engaging and rigorous chemistry education across relevant grade levels. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Key responsibilities include assisting with lesson planning, preparing laboratory sessions and teaching materials, guiding students during practical work, and reinforcing safety protocols in the science labs. The role involves conducting small-group instruction, offering academic support and remediation as needed, grading assignments under guidance, and contributing to assessments aligned with ICSE, IGCSE, and IB standards. The Assistant Chemistry Teacher will also collaborate with colleagues, participate in departmental meetings, and contribute to co-curricular science activities to enhance students’ curiosity and critical thinking.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Chemistry Education knowledge, including foundational and advanced school-level chemistry concepts and laboratory skills.
- Candidates should possess effective Lesson Planning and Teaching skills to support structured, student-centered instruction.
- Candidates should possess clear and professional Communication skills for interacting with students, colleagues, and families.
- Candidates should possess a basic understanding of Physics to support interdisciplinary learning in science when required.
- Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field; a recognized teaching qualification or certification is preferred.
- Experience teaching or assisting in international or high-performing schools, especially with ICSE, IGCSE, or IB curricula, is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment, demonstrate professional ethics, and support the school’s holistic education philosophy.
- Strong organizational skills, comfort with educational technology, and a commitment to ongoing professional development are beneficial.
