This comprehensive work-based fellowship is designed for orthopaedic surgeons who have completed their postgraduate training and are looking to advance their expertise in:
✔️ Primary & Revision Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery
✔️ Arthroscopic Ligament Reconstruction
✔️ Complex Trauma Management
✔️ Clinical Decision-Making & Patient Management
✔️ Research, Academic Presentations & Publications
The fellow will be actively involved in the complete patient journey from OP evaluation and surgical planning to postoperative care and rehabilitation while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary orthopaedic team.
Key responsibilities
* Clinical assessment and patient management
* Pre-operative planning and documentation
* Assisting in arthroplasty and trauma surgeries
* Post-operative rounds and follow-ups
* Emergency and resuscitation duties
* Participation in research projects, presentations, and academic discussions
* Coordinating with consultants, nursing teams, and patient attenders
About the mentor👨⚕️
Dr Udai Prakash, FRCS(Eng), FRCS(Edinburgh), FRCS(Trauma & Orth), CCST UK is the chief joint replacement surgeon at Udai Omni Hospital, Hyderabad, India. His interest also includes arthroscopic ligament reconstruction of the knee and complex trauma surgery. He did his general surgical and specialist orthopaedic training in Scotland and arthroscopy and arthroplasty fellowship training in Australia. He worked as a consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon at the University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire, UK from 2002–2012. Additionally, he was an Honorary Associate Professor and faculty member at University of Warwick.
He has published many articles in various international journals over the years and has also been a reviewer for many esteemed international orthopaedic journals including Journal of bone and joint surgery and Hip International. At international and local meets, Dr. Udai Prakash shares his expertise hip and knee replacement surgeries. He is one of the very few experts in the country in Unicompartmental knee replacement surgery and has been doing them in large numbers for over 25 years! Since 2012, Dr Udai Prakash has been the Director and Chief Joint Specialist Consultant at Udai Omni Hospital, Chapel Road, Hyderabad.
