Role Description The Area Credit and Risk Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, responsible for overseeing credit appraisal, approval, and risk management for Loan Against Property portfolios in the assigned region. This role involves evaluating borrower financials, collateral quality, and business viability, while ensuring adherence to internal credit policies and regulatory guidelines. The manager will monitor portfolio performance, track early warning signals, and implement risk mitigation strategies to maintain asset quality. Daily tasks include reviewing credit proposals, guiding branch credit teams, conducting field visits where necessary, and collaborating with sales, operations, and senior management to balance growth with prudent risk management. The role also includes preparing credit and risk reports, contributing to policy improvements, and supporting training and process standardization across the area.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Credit Management and Credit Risk Management skills.
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills and proficiency in Finance concepts.
- Candidates should possess experience in Portfolio Management and exposure to secured lending or MSME finance.
- Candidates should possess the ability to interpret financial statements, assess cash flows, and evaluate collateral.
- Candidates should possess strong communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making abilities.
- Relevant experience in NBFCs, banks, or financial services, preferably in Loan Against Property or MSME lending, is highly beneficial.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with regulatory guidelines, risk frameworks, and technology-enabled credit processes is an advantage.
