Role Description The Area Collections Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Nellore, responsible for overseeing loan collection activities within an assigned geographic area. This role includes managing and guiding collection teams, monitoring portfolio performance, and ensuring timely recovery of dues while maintaining strong customer relationships. The Area Collections Manager analyzes collection data, identifies high-risk accounts, implements action plans, and coordinates with branch and regional leadership to improve collection efficiency. The role also involves ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines and internal policies, conducting field visits when required, and driving initiatives that balance customer support with effective risk management. The Area Collections Manager contributes to achieving collection targets, minimizing delinquencies, and supporting the company’s mission of responsible and inclusive housing finance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in collections, credit control, or recovery management within financial services, housing finance, or banking.
- Strong people management skills, including team supervision, performance monitoring, and coaching for on-ground collection staff.
- Ability to analyze portfolio data, interpret collection metrics, and develop targeted action plans to reduce delinquency.
- Sound knowledge of lending practices, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards relevant to housing finance.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills to engage with customers, resolve payment issues, and maintain long-term relationships.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and customer-centric mindset aligned with MRHFL’s values and mission.
- Comfort with fieldwork, local travel within the area, and collaboration with branches and cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, commerce, business administration, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification in management or finance is an advantage.
- Fluency in English and relevant local languages of the Kochi region, with strong documentation and reporting skills.
