Role Description The Area Business Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Hubli-Dharwad, responsible for driving sales performance and business growth in the assigned territory. This role involves managing and motivating a team of medical representatives, planning and executing territory-wise sales strategies, and ensuring achievement of sales targets and key performance indicators. The Area Business Manager will regularly meet healthcare professionals, oversee product promotion and customer relationship management, and monitor market trends, competitor activities, and demand patterns. Daily responsibilities include conducting field visits, coaching team members, reviewing sales reports, organizing doctor and chemist meetings, and coordinating with regional and head office teams for smooth operations. The role also requires maintaining compliance with company policies, ethical promotional practices, and timely reporting.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong sales and business development skills, including territory management, target achievement, and customer relationship management.
- Candidates should possess team leadership and people management skills, including coaching, performance monitoring, and motivating field staff.
- Candidates should possess planning and analytical skills, including data interpretation, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.
- Candidates should possess communication and interpersonal skills, including effective presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building with healthcare professionals.
- Candidates should possess organizational and administrative skills, including reporting, documentation, and adherence to compliance and ethical standards.
- Relevant experience in pharmaceutical sales or healthcare marketing, preferably in a front-line or first-line managerial role.
- Graduate degree in science, pharmacy, or business-related discipline; a postgraduate qualification in management will be an advantage.
- Ability to work in the field regularly, travel within the assigned territory, and adapt to a dynamic, target-driven environment.
