Role Description The Area Business Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bhilwara, responsible for managing and growing business within an assigned territory. In this role, the individual will oversee dealer and distributor networks, build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, channel partners, and key stakeholders, and ensure achievement of sales targets and market share objectives. Day-to-day activities include planning and executing field visits, conducting product presentations and farmer meetings, monitoring competitor activity, and coordinating promotional campaigns in collaboration with marketing teams. The Area Business Manager will track sales performance, analyze territory trends, prepare regular reports, and provide feedback to management on market needs and product performance. The role also includes mentoring local sales staff, ensuring adherence to company policies, and representing Doctor Agrovet’s values and commitment to the farming community.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in territory sales or area management, preferably in agro, animal nutrition, or allied industries.
- Strong skills in business development, channel management, and relationship building with dealers, distributors, and farmers.
- Ability to plan and execute sales strategies, analyze market trends, and use data to drive decisions.
- Competence in basic sales reporting, use of CRM or sales tools, and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and organized, with the capacity to work independently in the field and handle multiple priorities.
- Understanding of rural markets, livestock practices, and farmer needs; local language proficiency is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Animal Husbandry, Business, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent is preferred.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area and work in on-ground, field-based environments.
