About the role
This role sits within an emerging independent strategic advisory practice focused on promoter-led businesses. The practice works at the intersection of ownership, control, capital readiness, governance, leadership transitions, enterprise continuity, and global integration.
The role is intended for someone who is intellectually curious, highly structured, discreet, and capable of turning complex ideas, documents, and conversations into useful analytical outputs. It is suitable for candidates from CA, CS, LLB, MBA, commerce, or adjacent backgrounds who want to work close to high-quality strategic thinking rather than in a purely routine execution role.
Role purpose
The Analyst – Strategic Advisory will support the development of the practice's intellectual frameworks, diagnostic tools, client materials, and engagement delivery processes.
The role involves helping translate broad promoter concerns into structured research, sharp briefing notes, client-ready documents, internal knowledge files, and well-organised delivery support. It is not a routine administrative role. It is intended for someone who wants to build depth in ownership, governance, capital, promoter-led business, and cross-border institutional issues.
Key responsibilities
1. Research and knowledge building
· Build and maintain research files on ownership, control, capital architecture, governance, succession, next-generation transitions, and cross-border structures.
· Track relevant developments, frameworks, and case examples relating to promoter-led businesses, family enterprises, investor rights, governance design, and institutionalisation.
· Convert reading and source material into concise notes, issue summaries, and practical insights.
2. Framework and content development
· Support the refinement of internal advisory frameworks, including diagnostic reviews, scoring models, question banks, and pillar-wise working tools.
· Help prepare one-pagers, briefing notes, point-of-view documents, website content inputs, and discussion decks.
· Turn conceptual thinking into structured charts, tables, presentations, and written materials.
3. Client engagement support
· Prepare client background notes, promoter group summaries, entity maps, and meeting briefs.
· Organise and analyse documents shared by clients, such as ownership charts, agreements, governance materials, structural notes, or family-business documentation.
· Attend selected internal or client discussions to capture structured notes, key themes, risks, and follow-up items.
· Prepare first drafts of diagnostic summaries, issue notes, and working papers for review.
4. Delivery process and internal organisation
· Build and maintain internal templates, trackers, checklists, and document libraries.
· Help institutionalise the practice's internal workflows for research, client preparation, and output generation.
· Ensure confidentiality, version control, and orderly management of sensitive materials.
Ideal candidate profile
The ideal candidate is likely to come from one of the following backgrounds:
· CA / CA finalist / articleship experience with strong interest in governance and strategy.
· Company Secretary (CS) / CS trainee / qualified CS with interest in ownership and governance matters.
· LLB / legal research background with interest in corporate structures, governance, and promoter-led business issues.
· Early-career MBA / commerce / economics candidate with strong research, writing, and analytical capability, especially if exposed to consulting, legal, tax, or transaction-oriented work.
Experience range
· 0 to 3 years of relevant experience.
· Freshers with exceptional analytical ability, writing quality, and seriousness of intent may also be considered.
Skills required
· Strong written English with the ability to summarise clearly and think in structured form.
· Excellent analytical and research ability.
· Strong proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and document structuring.
· Ability to read complex material carefully and extract what matters.
· High discretion and comfort working with confidential information.
· Maturity, reliability, and willingness to learn in a high-trust, high-ownership environment.

Location
Pune, India.
Working model
Full-time preferred. A high-quality part-time or apprenticeship-style arrangement may also be considered in the initial stage for the right candidate.
Indicative compensation
Indicative compensation may range from approximately INR 3 lakh to INR 4.5 lakh per annum, depending on profile, prior exposure, and demonstrated capability.
