Role Description The Aircraft Painter role at GAES is a full-time, on-site position based in Hyderabad. The Aircraft Painter prepares aircraft surfaces by cleaning, sanding, masking, and applying primers to ensure proper adhesion and finish quality. The role involves mixing and applying paints and coatings according to technical specifications, manufacturer guidelines, and company standards, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting painted surfaces, performing touch-ups, documenting work performed, and coordinating with maintenance and engineering teams to meet project timelines. The Aircraft Painter is also responsible for following safety procedures, using protective equipment, and maintaining tools and work areas in compliance with aviation and workplace regulations.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in surface preparation, masking, and application of primers and topcoats on aircraft structures.
- Candidates should possess skills in reading and understanding technical documents, such as paint specifications, work cards, and manufacturer instructions.
- Candidates should possess skills in quality inspection of painted surfaces, identifying defects, and performing corrective actions to meet finish standards.
- Candidates should possess skills related to safe use of painting equipment, materials handling, and adherence to health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Previous experience as an aircraft painter or industrial painter in aviation or related industries is highly beneficial.
- Relevant vocational training or certification in painting, refinishing, or aviation maintenance is an advantage.
- Ability to work in shifts, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks in hangar environments.
- Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Basic English language skills for understanding instructions, safety guidelines, and documentation.
