Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Advocate role located in Sonipat. The Advocate will handle litigation and advisory matters, including drafting petitions, suits, written statements, contracts, and legal opinions. Daily responsibilities include appearing before appropriate courts and tribunals, conducting legal research, preparing case strategies, and maintaining case files and documentation. The role also involves consulting with clients, explaining legal options, collaborating with colleagues on complex matters, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Advocate is expected to manage deadlines, coordinate with external stakeholders, and uphold high ethical and professional standards.
Qualifications
- Possession of a law degree (LL.B. or equivalent) from a recognized institution and enrollment with a Bar Council, with the eligibility to practice in relevant courts.
- Strong skills in legal research, case analysis, and application of statutory and case law to practical client matters.
- Proficiency in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, notices, contracts, and legal opinions, with attention to detail and clarity.
- Effective advocacy skills for court appearances, including oral arguments, examination of witnesses, and presentation of evidence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients in understandable terms.
- Ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize tasks, meet filing deadlines, and maintain organized records and documentation.
- Commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable laws and Bar Council regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with local legal procedures and practices in Haryana and Sonipat; prior litigation or law firm experience is an advantage.
- Comfort with using basic office software and legal research tools; willingness to learn new systems and methods as required.
