Role Description The Accounts Assistant role is a full-time, on-site position based in New Delhi. The Accounts Assistant will support daily accounting operations, including maintaining ledgers, posting journal entries, and assisting with reconciliations of bank statements and accounts. Responsibilities include managing petty cash transactions, processing invoices, monitoring payments, and supporting credit control activities to ensure timely collections. The role involves preparing basic financial reports, assisting with month-end and year-end closing, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders, and maintaining accurate, up-to-date financial records in compliance with company policies. The Accounts Assistant will also contribute to process improvements and provide administrative support to the finance and accounting team as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong accounting skills, including basic bookkeeping, ledger management, reconciliations, and familiarity with accounting software.
- Finance knowledge with the ability to understand cash flow, cost control, and support financial reporting and analysis.
- Experience or aptitude in credit control, including tracking receivables, following up on overdue accounts, and supporting collection efforts.
- Petty cash handling skills, including accurate recording of transactions, maintaining cash balances, and ensuring proper documentation.
- Effective communication skills for working with internal teams, clients, and vendors, and for presenting financial information clearly.
- Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other office productivity tools; experience with ERP or accounting systems is an advantage.
- Relevant educational background in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; prior experience in an accounts or finance support role is preferred.
- Ability to work ethically, maintain confidentiality of financial information, and adhere to company policies and regulatory requirements.
