MAMI Mumbai Film Festival is looking for a full-time, on-site
Accountant based in Mumbai. The role involves managing day-to-day accounting operations, including recording financial transactions, maintaining ledgers, preparing vouchers, and ensuring accurate and timely entries in accounting software.
Responsibilities - Assisting with budgeting and cost tracking for festival events and the year-round programmes, monitoring payables and receivables, reconciling bank statements, and supporting payroll processing.
- Preparing periodic financial reports, assist with audits, ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors on finance-related matters.
- Maintaining organised financial documentation and contributing to process improvements in financial systems and controls.
Qualifications
- Strong accounting and bookkeeping skills, including general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, or similar) and MS Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting to support events and programme-related expenditures.
- Understanding of statutory compliance, including taxation, invoicing, and documentation requirements relevant to Indian regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with clear, professional communication skills for working with internal teams and external partners.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications are an advantage.
- Prior experience in non-profits organisations or arts and culture institutions is beneficial.
