Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Academic Counselor role based in Kolkata. The Academic Counselor will guide students through academic and career pathways, including course selection, program options, and long-term education plans. The role involves conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, organizing information sessions, and maintaining accurate records of student interactions and progress. The counselor will collaborate with educational institutions and internal teams to align counseling support with program requirements and admission processes. Daily responsibilities also include addressing student queries, supporting application and enrollment activities, and providing ongoing support to help learners succeed in their chosen academic and career trajectories.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Student Counseling and Academic Advising skills to support learners in making informed educational decisions.
- Candidates should possess effective Career Counseling and Education-related knowledge to guide students on suitable academic and professional pathways.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and active listening.
- Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field are preferred.
- Prior experience in academic counseling, admissions, or student support services is beneficial.
- Ability to build trust with students and families, work collaboratively with institutional stakeholders, and manage multiple cases efficiently.
- Familiarity with local and national education systems, training programs, and career options, along with basic computer and documentation skills.
