Role Description The Zonal Head role is a full-time, hybrid position based in Pune City, with some flexibility for work from home. This role is responsible for overseeing sales and distribution activities within the assigned zone, ensuring achievement of revenue, market share, and profitability targets. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing dealer and distributor networks, monitoring field sales performance, and supporting teams with guidance, training, and problem resolution. The Zonal Head will analyze market trends, gather customer feedback, plan promotional activities, and coordinate closely with marketing, service, and operations teams. The role also involves regular visits to key accounts and rural markets, preparing reports and forecasts, and maintaining strong, trust-based relationships with farmers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in regional or zonal sales management, preferably in agricultural equipment, farm machinery, or allied industries.
- Demonstrated ability to manage dealer and distributor networks, including territory planning, channel development, and performance monitoring.
- Skills in team leadership, coaching, and people management, with the ability to motivate and guide field staff toward goals.
- Proficiency in sales analytics, reporting, and use of CRM or related tools for tracking performance and forecasting.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities with farmers, dealers, and internal teams.
- Understanding of rural markets and agricultural practices, with a customer-centric approach to solving farmer needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the zone and work in a hybrid arrangement from Pune City.
