Job Summary: Scrim Coat Applicator is responsible for setting up and operating the machine to apply a scrim coat onto PX material. This role ensures that the process adheres to the Operating Manual Procedures and that the product consistently meets quality standards. The applicator must monitor the machine’s performance, make necessary adjustments, and perform routine checks to ensure the scrim coating is applied accurately and efficiently.
This position requires availability to work a rotating 12hr-shift (36hr/48hr) schedules including weekends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Follow detailed work instructions to ensure consistency and accuracy in production tasks.
Adhere to safety and PPE requirements.
Load PX material onto machine using proper tools and techniques.
Operate the machine to apply the scrim coating solution onto the material following the batch process operation.
Verify the material is completely coated and ensure proper drying of the coating for optimal quality.
Wind finished material onto cardboard cores.
Prepare material for boxing and palletizing.
Continuously monitor machine performance to ensure it is running efficiently and make the necessary adjustments.
Operate equipment and perform all tasks in accordance with Safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Perform routine quality checks to ensure the coating is applied evenly and that finished product meets quality standards.
Responsible for cleaning the machinery when scheduled.
Accurately complete all paperwork for product according to the procedures.
Perform additional duties as required to support production goals or address operational needs.
Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or a GED is required
Experience of 1 year or more in manufacturing or a factory environment is strongly desired
Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations, read and interpret documents, follow procedures, document information, communicate effectively with shift lead and co-workers
Ability to problem solve and take effective corrective action to resolve problems
Physical Demands

Lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs from scale and properly close and seal for shipment.
Job involves lifting, turning, bending, reaching, pulling, walking and standing for extended periods of time.
Ability to operate a forklift
