Job Summary
The Senior SAP Operations System IT Expert works closely with (key-) users, process owners and IT Demand management to understand, clarify, and fulfil Operations, Quality functions requirements and improve processes. The Senior SAP Operations System IT Expert must understand the overall direction and requirements of Zimmer Biomet’s operations and quality processes.
As many implementations and changes to existing processes are managed as projects, the Senior SAP Operations System IT Expert will be expected to be part of projects and work with external vendors (e.g., consultants).

How You'll Create Impact
General Functions
• Clear understanding of SAP Manufacturing Operations, Quality and Document Management functionalities. Remains current on SAP PP/PM/QM/DMS product offerings and capabilities.
• Good understanding of integration with FI/CO, MM, WM, EDI and other SAP modules (e.g., DM)
• Support IT effort estimates by providing proposed IT solutions
• Translate requirements and functional specifications into technical specifications, data flow diagrams and data models
• Document all customizing and required program changes
• Writes requirement and technical specifications as well as test scripts
• Test all customizing and program changes
• Keep systems and applications in a validated state according to legal and corporate requirements with respect to, e.g., FDA and SOX
• Train (key-) users on implemented changes
• Provide on-going 3rd level support for the processes and functions within the area of responsibility
• Manage, update and communicate status of tickets assigned
• Be reachable outside normal office hours for emergency support or change deployment activities
• For small to medium size projects assigned: support the IT PM to setup detailed project plan with tasks, milestones, timeline, dependencies.
• Support IT PM to define what type of resources are required
• Identify and recommend external (consulting) resource requirements
• Contact external (consulting) resources or vendors if needed for 4th level support
• Stay up to date with latest developments within the functional area of responsibility as well as the applications/modules
• Time management: balance time between (small) projects and on-going support

The Senior SAP Operations System IT Expert plays a lead role in designing and mapping IT solutions and ensuring that they are scalable and available. The Senior SAP Operations System IT Expert is responsible for gathering detailed requirements to implement these solutions, taking into consideration future goals of the EMEA Commercial functions and the overall IT strategy and IT mission. In addition, the Senior SAP Operations System IT Expert provides ongoing 3rd level support for the application(s) within his/her area of responsibility.
Your Background
Education/Experience Requirements
• B.S. degree in business, computer science or information systems or 5 of years’ equivalent work experience in SAP Operations, Quality area.
• Must have hands on experience in SAP PP/QM (and DMS)
• Must have SAP PP/QM experience on complex project (Support or Rollouts or Implementation)
• Work independently as individual contributor
• Strong English skills
• Communicates clearly and concisely both verbal and written
• Builds and maintains strong relationships with users on all levels
• Has strong analytical skills to be able to quickly identify underlying problems and design solutions to these problems
• Ability to clearly explain and present solutions to users and management and get their buy-in/ approval
• Facilitates changes and persuades users and process owners
• Can switch from high-level to hands-on when necessary
• Is creative and innovative but also realistic
• Can work independently, set the right priorities and is a self-starter
• Is flexible of mind and willing to continuous learn requirements of other functional areas
• Beside the main business application that the SAP Operations System IT Expert is responsible for, must have experience with the following software: Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Outlook.
• Is aware of the legal requirements and corporate guidelines with respect to system validation for, e.g., FDA, SOX, etc.
• Is aware of the legal requirements and corporate guidelines with respect to electronic data records.
