As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting lead educators to create safe, developmentally appropriate, and inclusive classrooms that align with our Anti-Bias Curriculum. What You’ll Do
- Assist in implementing age-appropriate curriculum using YWCA’s Anti-Bias and We Care frameworks.
- Supervise and maintain a safe, clean, and culturally sensitive learning environment.
- Support children with educational activities and personal hygiene needs.
- Observe, document, and assist in reporting on children's development.
- Contribute to behavioral management plans and promote positive classroom culture.
- Maintain compliance with DHS Rule 3, NAEYC, Parent Aware, and CACFP standards.
- Cover for Lead Teachers as needed and provide support across classrooms and sites.
- Participate in trainings, staff days, and required in-service hours.

Requirements
Qualifications
- Meets Minnesota DHS Rule 3 Assistant Teacher qualifications.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Experience with early education settings preferred.
- Current or willing to obtain First Aid and CPR certifications.
Working Conditions
- Regular movement including standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to outdoor weather and illness.
- Ability to travel to various sites in the metro area.
- Flexibility in hours based on program needs.
