The Role
We're looking for a talented YouTube Video Editor who can bring our creative vision to life across multiple channels. You'll be responsible for editing both long-form YouTube videos and short-form content (Shorts, Reels, TikTok), ensuring each piece is optimized for maximum engagement and platform-specific performance.
Responsibilities
- Edit long-form YouTube videos (5-10 minutes) with strong narrative pacing and storytelling
- Create engaging short-form content (YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels) optimized for each platform
- Add dynamic motion graphics, text overlays, captions, and visual effects to enhance viewer retention
- Color grade footage and sync audio, music, and sound effects for professional output
- Incorporate trending styles, music, and editing techniques to maximize reach and virality
- Manage and organize raw footage efficiently across multiple projects
- Collaborate with creative directors and content team to understand project vision and implement feedback
- Create compelling thumbnails and end screens that drive click-through rates
- Stay updated with YouTube algorithm changes and video editing trends
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of proven video editing experience with a strong portfolio showcasing YouTube content
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (mandatory)
- Strong understanding of YouTube SEO, pacing, retention strategies, and platform-specific formatting
- Experience editing for multiple aspect ratios (16:9 for YouTube, 9:16 for Shorts/Reels, 1:1 for Instagram)
- Excellent storytelling abilities with attention to visual composition and transitions
- Proficiency in motion graphics, text animation, and visual effects
- Fast turnaround time without compromising quality
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with additional editing tools (Final Cut Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve)
- Knowledge of sound design and audio editing in Adobe Audition
- Familiarity with AI-driven content enhancement tools
- Understanding of color grading and correction workflows
- Experience creating content for devotional, tech, or documentary niches
- Ability to create custom thumbnails in Photoshop
- Knowledge of YouTube Analytics and data-driven editing decisions
