The Role
We are looking for a
YouTube Thumbnail Designer who lives and breathes YouTube.
Not a generic graphic designer.
Someone obsessed with thumbnails, click psychology, viewer behaviour, and understanding why people click one video over another.
If you constantly pause videos to study thumbnails, think in CTR instead of aesthetics, and instinctively understand attention, storytelling, emotion, and curiosity, this role is for you.
Your work will directly influence how many people click, watch, and discover our content.
You will work closely with our Founder & CEO, Kshitij Sehrawat, and the creative team to package videos into compelling visual experiences that drive clicks, improve CTR, and help us grow from 784K to 1M+ subscribers and beyond.
Location
This is a
full-time, in-office role based in Saket, New Delhi.
Candidates living in the Delhi/NCR region (or willing to relocate) will be preferred.
Compensation
This is a salaried role.
Compensation will depend on skill level, portfolio quality, creative instincts, and execution ability. Exceptional candidates can expect competitive pay.
What You’ll Actually Do
- Design multiple thumbnail concepts for every long-form video (typically 3–4 creative directions)
- Turn high-level video ideas into emotionally compelling, click-worthy visual stories
- Create thumbnails optimized for high CTR, mobile readability, and viewer curiosity
- Rapidly iterate based on feedback, deadlines, and performance insights
- Manipulate images, retouch faces, enhance expressions, lighting, posture, and emotional impact
- Create clean, high-impact visual compositions without clutter
- Pair visuals with minimal, strategic typography when necessary
- Study high-performing creators and adapt packaging insights to Iron Man Lifestyle’s brand and audience
- Build and organize reusable assets, expressions, templates, references, and visual systems to improve speed and quality
- Constantly improve creative output through experimentation, trend observation, and thumbnail analysis
What We’re Looking For
You may be a fit if:
- You have a strong portfolio of YouTube thumbnails for creators, agencies, media brands, freelance clients, or personal projects
- You are deeply obsessed with YouTube packaging, thumbnails, attention psychology, and viewer behavior
- You instinctively understand what makes people stop scrolling and click
- You have exceptional visual taste and can instantly identify why one thumbnail works better than another
- You think beyond “good design” and understand emotional triggers, curiosity, tension, stakes, storytelling, and visual hierarchy
- You are highly detail-oriented and care deeply about masking quality, facial expressions, lighting, color treatment, composition, and clarity
- You thrive in fast feedback loops and can iterate quickly without ego
- You are comfortable working under deadlines and maintaining consistency without compromising quality
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop (required)
- Strong understanding of photo manipulation, compositing, masking, retouching, lighting, image enhancement, and cinematic visual treatment
- Strong understanding of:
- Click psychology
- Thumbnail/title synergy
- Mobile-first readability
- Curiosity gaps and emotional triggers
- Visual hierarchy and framing
- Human expression, tension, contrast, and storytelling
- Ability to produce multiple high-quality thumbnail directions quickly and consistently
