YouTube Script Writer & Content Strategist (Finance)

About the Role
At SkillSnap, we're building two finance-focused YouTube channels from the ground up:
Money Mind – Financial Psychology, Money Mindset, Banking & Credit Card Traps, Consumer Awareness, and Documentary-Style Finance Stories.
Money Magnet – Personal Finance, Investing, SIPs, Mutual Funds, CIBIL, Wealth Building, Asset Allocation, and Financial Planning.
We're looking for someone who can take ownership of content—from research and ideation to scripting and storytelling.
This is not a traditional content writing role.
We're looking for a creator-minded individual who understands how YouTube works, knows how to hold attention, and can turn complex financial topics into engaging, easy-to-understand content.
Key Responsibilities
- Research topics and develop content ideas from scratch.
- Identify strong content angles and story opportunities.
- Write engaging long-form YouTube scripts.
- Break down complex finance topics into simple, relatable narratives.
- Build strong hooks, storytelling structures, and viewer-retention mechanisms.
- Collaborate with editors and the content team to improve watch time and engagement.
- Contribute to content planning and overall channel growth.
Non-Negotiable Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in YouTube script writing, content strategy, journalism, documentary writing, educational content, or creator-led media.
- Strong storytelling and research capabilities.
- Ability to independently research, structure, and write content from scratch.
- Good understanding of:
- Personal Finance
- Banking
- Credit Cards
- Investing
- Wealth Creation
- Consumer Finance
- Understanding of YouTube audience behaviour and retention-driven content.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment with a high level of ownership.
Applications Will Not Be Considered If
- No relevant portfolio or work samples are shared.
- Experience is limited to blog writing, article writing, or generic copywriting.
- Unable to demonstrate ownership of previously written content.
- Unable to explain the thought process behind content structure and storytelling.
What We're Looking For
Someone who can take a topic like:
"The Hidden Business Model of Credit Cards"
and turn it into a compelling YouTube video that educates, engages, and keeps viewers watching till the end.
