We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations for automotive fluid conveying products, including power steering hose assemblies, transmission oil cooler lines, and A/C lines. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient production, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and oversee daily production activities to meet customer demand and delivery targets
- Manage manufacturing operations for hose assemblies, tubing, crimping, bending, and related processes
- Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards and customer specifications
- Lead and develop production teams, including supervisors and line personnel
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, scrap rates, downtime, and on-time delivery
- Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to optimize processes
- Identify and resolve production issues, bottlenecks, and equipment inefficiencies
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and promote a strong safety culture
- Oversee inventory control, material flow, and production readiness
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing, preferably in fluid conveying systems, hose assemblies, or tubing
- Proven leadership experience managing production teams in a high-volume environment
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as crimping, forming, brazing, and assembly
- Knowledge of automotive quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949)
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Preferred Skills
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certification
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and control plans
- Familiarity with OEM and Tier 1 automotive supplier requirements
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills
