Housekeeper -White Rock YMCA

Description

We are looking for individuals who enjoy cleaning and have a positive and hospitable personality to join our Housekeeping Team at the White Rock YMCA. Our Housekeeping Team helps us create a welcoming environment for members of all backgrounds and abilities.  Daily responsibilities include sweeping, dusting, moping, removing trash and recycling, maintaining floor surfaces (wood, vinyl, cement, rubber, and tile), windows, showers, toilets and urinals, stalls, and other surfaces within our branch. Housekeepers also assist with various set up and break-down of room reservations, including Board Meetings.

Four years or more of experience in commercial or educational housekeeping is preferred. Knowledge of cleaning products and equipment will be evaluated during the interview process. Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential duties is required. Candidates will need to be able to read and understand chemical labels and warnings, responsibility sheets, schedules, inventory lists and communicate effectively. Our team is responsible for identifying and being able to resolve any member concerns related to cleanliness in a calm and courteous manner.

• Over 1,000 visitors per day, checking-in for programming or branch use
• Outdoor seasonal pool and aquatics features (splash pad)

• 50,000 square feet to keep clean

Requirements

Our Housekeeping Team cleans during branch operating hours and completes a once a month deep cleaning:

• Monday - Thursday 5AM-10PM
• Friday 5AM-8PM
• Saturday 7AM-6PM
• Sunday 1PM-5PM

Candidates should be able to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, and a maximum of 25 hours per week. Schedules are created monthly.

Monthly deep cleanings take place the second or third Sunday between 9AM-1PM.
