Description
Plans and administers professional nursing care to pediatric populations in a residential or day camp environment. Provides assessment, treatment, and health oversight for infants, children, and adolescents, ensuring a safe and healthy camp experience. Works with a high degree of independence while coordinating care with camp leadership, families, and external healthcare providers as needed.

Essential Functions

· Provide direct nursing care to child, and adolescent campers and staff, including assessment and treatment of common illnesses and injuries.

· Administer medications in accordance with physician standing orders, state licensure requirements, and camp policies.
|
|
· Perform health screen for campers and staff; identify health concerns requiring follow-up.
|
|
· Develop and implement care plans for campers with chronic or acute medical conditions, coordinating with families, physicians, and counselors.
|
|
· Maintain accurate, confidential medical records and daily health logs in compliance with applicable regulations.
|
|
· Respond to medical emergencies, initiate first aid or emergency care, and coordinate with local emergency services when necessary.

|
· Educate campers and staff on health, safety, and wellness practices appropriate to the camp environment.
|
|
· Monitor health trends within the camp community and recommend preventative or corrective actions to leadership.
|
|
· Participate in staff training related to health, infection control, CPR, first aid, and emergency response.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
|

· Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) required.

· Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state in which the camp operates.

· Prior experience in pediatric, school, community health, or camp nursing settings strongly preferred.

· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple health needs in a fast-paced, non-traditional care environment.

· Active RN license in good standing.
| |
· CPR and First Aid certification required; advanced pediatric or emergency certifications preferred where applicable.
