Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Yardi Functional Consultant with strong functional expertise across Yardi modules and a solid understanding of accounting, financial processes, data migration, reporting, and business process analysis.
The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, Process SMEs, and technical teams to gather requirements, support Yardi implementations and data migration projects, define functional specifications, facilitate testing and UAT, and contribute to the design and implementation of effective technology solutions.
Key ResponsibilitiesYardi Functional Expertise
- Demonstrate strong functional knowledge of Yardi and its various modules, including:
- Commercial
- Residential
- Leasing
- CRM
- Finance
- System Administration
- Construction
- Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
- Facilities Management
- Provide functional guidance and support for Yardi implementation, enhancement, integration, and migration projects.
- Work closely with business and technical teams to ensure solutions align with operational and business requirements.
Data Migration Support
- Actively participate as a functional team member in Yardi data migration projects.
- Collaborate closely with technical and data migration teams to ensure accurate and seamless migration of legacy data into Yardi.
- Support data mapping activities, including mapping existing financial and operational data to Yardi Chart of Accounts (COA) and segments.
- Define and develop master data rules, mapping logic, and data transformation requirements.
- Participate in data validation, reconciliation, and migration testing activities.
Custom Reporting
- Provide functional support for the development and enhancement of custom reports.
- Gather and analyze reporting requirements from business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with technical teams to prepare detailed functional specification documents.
- Review and validate developed reports against business requirements.
- Conduct functional testing and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve reporting issues and ensure successful delivery.
Financial and Accounting Expertise
- Apply strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial processes, financial reporting, and analysis.
- Understand business requirements related to General Ledger, Chart of Accounts, budgeting, financial reporting, and related financial processes.
- Support financial data validation and reconciliation activities during implementation and migration projects.
- Collaborate with finance stakeholders to ensure Yardi configurations and solutions meet business and regulatory requirements.
Requirements Gathering and Business Analysis
- Collaborate with Process SMEs, business stakeholders, and project teams to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear and comprehensive functional requirements.
- Develop business requirements documents, functional specifications, use cases, and user stories.
- Identify gaps between current business processes and proposed solutions.
- Facilitate requirement gathering workshops and stakeholder discussions.
Process Mapping and Improvement
- Analyze and document current-state (As-Is) and future-state (To-Be) business processes.
- Create process documentation using modeling techniques such as:
- Process flowcharts
- Swimlane diagrams
- Workflow diagrams
- Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Recommend process enhancements aligned with business objectives and Yardi capabilities.
Solution Design
- Contribute to the functional design of technology solutions, software applications, integrations, and system enhancements.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and technical teams to ensure proposed solutions meet functional and business requirements.
- Review solution designs and provide functional inputs throughout the software development and implementation lifecycle.
- Ensure alignment between business requirements, functional specifications, and delivered solutions.
Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Develop functional test scenarios and test cases based on business requirements.
- Conduct functional and integration testing.
- Coordinate and facilitate UAT sessions with business stakeholders.
- Track defects, issues, and enhancement requests through resolution.
- Validate that delivered solutions meet agreed business and functional requirements.
Documentation
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including:
- Business Requirement Documents (BRDs)
- Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs)
- Functional Specification Documents
- Data Mapping Documents
- Process Flow Diagrams
- Use Cases and User Stories
- Test Cases and Test Scripts
- UAT Documentation
- Project Progress and Status Reports
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, up to date, and aligned with organizational standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong hands-on functional experience with Yardi applications and modules.
- Experience in Yardi implementation, enhancement, support, or data migration projects.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
- Experience with Yardi Chart of Accounts (COA), segments, and master data management.
- Experience in data migration, data mapping, data validation, and reconciliation.
- Strong business analysis and requirements gathering skills.
- Experience preparing BRDs, FRDs, functional specifications, use cases, and user stories.
- Experience with business process mapping and modeling techniques.
- Strong knowledge of functional testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Ability to effectively collaborate with business stakeholders, Process SMEs, developers, and technical teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in cross-functional project environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant experience working on Yardi implementation and transformation projects.
- Experience in real estate, property management, construction, facilities management, or related industries.
- Knowledge of Procure-to-Pay (P2P), leasing, CRM, and financial business processes.
- Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall project delivery methodologies.
- Familiarity with project management and issue-tracking tools.

The candidate should be comfortable working as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams and should have proven experience supporting data migration, reporting, requirements gathering, process mapping, solution design, testing, and UAT activities.
