Senior Frontend Engineer - Autonomous Agents - Starfleet

xAI’s mission is to create AI systems that can accurately understand the universe and aid humanity in its pursuit of knowledge. The Starfleet team builds the systems that power xAI’s next leap—self-driven AI that thinks, acts, and learns. The role involves crafting slick, high-performance frontends in React/Typescript to control and monitor autonomous agents, designing intuitive UIs for complex data, collaborating with full-stack and AI teams to ship end-to-end features, pushing the boundaries of real-time, data-rich interfaces powered by unlimited GPU muscle, and innovating tools that bring us closer to AI that truly understands the universe. Candidates should have experience delivering standout UIs in fast-paced startups, working with data-heavy or real-time systems, and some familiarity with Python or systems design. The tech stack includes Typescript, Python, Rust, React, Express, and PostgreSQL. The role is based in the Bay Area (San Francisco and Palo Alto), and candidates are expected to be located near the Bay Area or open to relocation. The interview process includes a phone interview and four technical interviews covering coding, frontend technical skills, systems hands-on problem solving, and a presentation of past work and vision. All interviews are conducted via Google Meet.
