Consultant - Project Controls

To provide planning, scheduling, cost control and reporting services on assigned projects with Senior/Principal Consultant or Team leader based in Bengaluru. Responsibilities Contribute to the planning, scheduling, and controlling strategy for assigned projects as guided by PMs/Principal Consultant, so that the approach taken in each case is effective and appropriate to the project needs and client requirements including setting standards and procedures, monitors and reports at project/portfolio level, prepare relevant project control dashboards for internal and external stakeholder communication. Set up the baseline schedule and control procedures for assigned projects and monitor progress against the plan, so that any problems are recognised promptly Assist Project Managers and Project Engineers with estimates and plans for bid/tenders. Assist PMs/Principal Controller with producing the EAC and Report on progress and earned value, to support financial forecasting and any necessary corrective action Lead a performance culture, incorporating the WSP values, which develops individuals' capability through an active performance management process, so that not only delivery for the company is enhanced but also the skills, capability and personal satisfaction of an individual is maximised. The major duties, tasks, and responsibilities are below: • Be responsible for all aspects of the planning, scheduling, and programming of the work. • Provide functional input to projects, including where relevant leading the input of other planners/controllers, to ensure delivery is consistent and effective, meeting scope, time, cost and quality requirements. • Contribute to the planning, scheduling, and controlling strategy for assigned projects, so that the approach taken in each case is effective and appropriate to the project needs and client requirements including setting standards and procedures, monitors and reports at project/portfolio level, prepare relevant project control dashboards for internal and external stakeholder communication. • Set up the baseline schedule and control procedures for assigned projects and monitor progress against the plan, so that any problems are recognised promptly. • Assist Project Managers and Project Engineers with estimates and plans for bid/tenders. • Assist PMs/Principal Consultant with producing the EAC and Report on progress and earned value, to support financial forecasting and any necessary corrective action • Assist PMs/Principal Consultant for monitoring project risks, issues, resources and CPM and assist in providing solutions to Principal Consultant and the Resident Engineer, complying with WSP and the Client's standards and codes. • Any other iCRC Roads team related assignment as entrusted by Line Manager and Team Lead. Technical • Demonstrable capability in Project Controls, and proven skills in the use of Primavera / Microsoft / other planning products (e.g. Primavera P6, Microsoft Project). • Understand and has utilized Critical Path Analysis, Earned Value Techniques, and Basic project management skills. • Advance level expertise in using MS Excel/ Word for developing tools and dashboards for internal and external stakeholder communications. • Advanced knowledge of the philosophies, principles, practices & techniques of project controlling. Preferred • Exposure to UK Highways Industry and work experience in Highways projects. • Experience in working in a global engineering & design consultancy business is an advantage. People • Experience to review the work completed by Junior controllers and ability to work in a team environment. • Experience in working with international planning and project controls teams. • Ability to work in a team environment. • Possess the ability to work to tight deadlines and in changing environments. Preferred: Ability to supervise or guide junior controllers in the delivery of planning to time, cost and quality
