Overview for Operations
WRI India Operations team supports the crucial front-line work of the organization, they directly interact and work with donors, partners, government agencies, statutory bodies, trustees, vendors, and Consultants in fielding their inquiries, providing support at all the fronts and solving problems. So that the WRI India programs can be implemented without any hurdles and the program staff and researchers can develop high quality research documents, plans and implement the programs at the field level.
WRI India Operations team consists of various functions such as Budget and Finance, Grants and Contracts, Legal Counsel, Human Resource, IT and Facilities management. Each role comes under the purview of India and each function lead reports to the Director India and Director India report to the CEO of the Organization.

Job Highlight:
This role focuses on finance, accounting, and operational support to ensure organizational efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. The position is responsible for managing accounts payable, reconciliations, month-end closing activities, journal entries, and financial analysis, while supporting the development and maintenance of accounting and recordkeeping systems. The role also involves analyzing accounting queries, coordinating with external stakeholders to resolve financial issues, and preparing and reviewing financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with reporting standards. Additionally, the position supports institutional and financial problem-solving initiatives, maintains financial documentation, and contributes to continuous process improvement to strengthen operational effectiveness.
What you will do:
Update accounts payable and performs reconciliations.
Participate in month-end closing activities, including journal entries and other analysis.
Report to manager regarding the finances of programs by developing, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems. Provide advice on tax strategies, and the assumptions underlying forecasts.
Analysing the accounting issues/ queries and discussing with reporting manager and providing solutions in coordination with the accounting firm
Support India to explore solutions to Institutional and financial problems. Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
Coordinate with HR to create a Data Base
Devise and implement sourcing strategies and employer branding initiatives to build pipelines of diverse set of qualified applicants.
Keep records of all mails and documents used for recruitment on ATS.
Proactively focus on Continuous process improvement initiatives to drive process excellence.
Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives/Projects.
What you will need:
CA Inter or M. Com or MBA finance degree.
At least 2-4 years full time work experience in financial management
Should have proficient knowledge about FCRA and TDS Filings, PT Returns and Filings.
Ability to communicate proficiently with various Stakeholders at different levels within and outside the organization.
Strong conceptual understanding of accounting and HR structure
Understanding of Taxes, cash flow management, bank reconciliation, and bookkeeping.
Bring high levels of intellect and experience coupled with the character and presence to make an immediate contribution to the institute.
Strategic thinker and has eye for details.
Experience in working in an NGO and knowledge of FCRA would be beneficial.
Location: New Delhi/Mumbai/Bengaluru
Potential Salary and Benefits: 9,50,000 to 12,50,000 INR per annum
Salary shall be commensurate with experience, skills, and internal parity. WRI India offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package
