Mission of the Role
Lead the innovation roadmap for the Wrap & Carry segment, significantly upgrading existing products and developing new, differentiated paper‑based solutions that close performance gaps with market leaders and unlock new customers in food service, QSR, retail and allied applications"
Key Responsibilities
Lead the innovation roadmap for our Wrap & Carry segment – upgrading existing grades and creating new paper‑based solutions for QSR, bakery, retail and delivery brands.
Take ideas from sketchbook to shop floor: lab and pilot work, paper‑machine trials, converting trials, and final customer qualification.
Benchmark Pakka products against global competitors and close performance gaps on grease resistance, heat tolerance, printability and runnability while keeping everything compostable and recyclable.
Work side‑by‑side with Production, Quality, Sales and key customers during trials and launches, turning feedback and data into better recipes and specifications.
Help open new customer accounts and segments by co‑developing Wrap & Carry concepts that solve real problems for fast‑growing food brands.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
Bachelor or Master’s in one of the following:
Chemical Engineering / Pulp & Paper Technology
Sustainable Packaging / Chemistry
Mechanical engineering /Industrial Engineering
Related disciplines with strong R&D focus
Experience
2 - 5 years of experience in paper manufacturing and/or paper‑based packaging product development (food wrap, carry bags, specialty / barrier papers are a big plus).
Hands‑on feel for papermaking and/or converting: you’re comfortable around stock prep, paper machines, coating, or converting lines and you enjoy being on the floor during trials.
Curious problem‑solver who loves experimenting, crunching data and connecting the dots between lab results, machine behaviour and customer experience.
Clear, energetic communicator who can switch gears between talking to operators, lab teams, sales colleagues and brand managers.
Skills
Knowledge of paper science, wet end chemistry, and food-contact materials
Experience with mechanical properties, barrier coatings, and testing protocols
Familiar with lab testing tools and pilot-scale operations
Ability to convert research into manufacturable specs
Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
