Senior Program Associate, Global Forest Watch Climate The World Resources Institute (WRI) is an independent, nonprofit global research organization that turns big ideas into action at the nexus of environment, economic opportunity and human well-being. We are working to address critical global challenges that must be solved in order to ensure a sustainable future for all - restoring forests and landscapes, reducing food loss and waste, transforming energy systems, and improving people's access to sustainable infrastructure and transport. WRI seeks a Senior Program Associate to support the Global Forest Watch Climate team. The successful candidate will help design and implement cutting-edge projects to leverage technology and data for forest and climate action. The Senior Program Associate will work closely with a small team of talented data scientists, designers, and policy experts to enhance the ability of the Global Forest Watch Climate platform to support national and subnational climate commitments and actions related to the land sector. Specific responsibilities include: - Manage key project deliverables, including analyzing data, conducting research, and writing technical reports and policy briefs - Coordinate and provide support to meetings, workshops, and capacity building events - Contribute to the design and development of innovative features, tools, and services to enhance the utility and user experience of the Global Forest Watch Climate platform - Engage with a diverse set of stakeholders, including government officials, researchers, civil society organizations, and the private sector to understand their needs and tailor products and services accordingly - Support fundraising efforts by contributing to the development of project proposals and donor reports Qualifications: - Master's degree in a relevant field such as environmental science, climate change, forest/land use, or related discipline - At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally in a project management or technical support role - Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including experience working with large datasets, statistical analysis, and/or GIS - Demonstrated ability to synthesize and communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences - Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines - Proficiency in written and verbal communication in English, including technical writing experience - Passion for WRI's mission and a commitment to making a positive impact on the environment and society - Fluency in other languages, especially French or Spanish, is a plus Salary, Benefits and How to Apply: Salary is commensurate with experience.
