WBR Canada is a registered charity and a subsidiary of World Bicycle Relief NFP (WBR NFP). We are a mission-driven, global not-for-profit that manages a highly refined bicycle supply chain from design through final distribution. Buffalo Bicycle Limited also offers users repair and maintenance services via a retail network of shops and local mechanics. WBR has distributed over 870,000 fit-for-purpose bicycles and trained 2,500+ community-based mechanics. Girls with Buffalo Bicycles are 19% less likely to drop out of school; dairy farmers earn 23% more income, and health workers reach 88% more patients.
Purpose of Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Marketing and Communications Coordinator to support the fundraising efforts of our dynamic not-for-profit organization. This role will be responsible for executing tactical fundraising communications, marketing, donor engagement and stewardship initiatives to support our mission and goals. You will collaborate with the global MarComm team to integrate marketing and communication strategies locally by tailoring content for the Canadian market. An ideal candidate will be ambitious and embrace the opportunity to support donor relationships.
Job Responsibilities
Marketing and Communications
- Partners with WBR MarComm center of excellence (COE) to ensure brand consistency across all marketing materials and communication
- Digital & Social Media Marketing; partners to create and distribute content through online campaigns to generate visibility and revenue while elevating WBR’s reputation as a mobility solutions leader
- Writes press releases, articles, blog posts, social media content, and other content for distribution
- Tracks email performance and analyzes data through our email marketing system to optimize future campaigns
- Creates and manages donation forms and peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns
- Maintains social media channels, including posting content, engaging with followers, and monitoring analytics
- Other duties as assigned
Fundraising
- Partners to steward strong relationships with potential and existing donors to engage with our mission and invest in/fund WBR's broader efforts
- Executes the donor thank you process, including activities such as creating personalized thank-you notes, and managing donor recognition programs
- Provides oversight and follow up of general communications channels, including email inboxes, voice mailboxes, incoming mail, and packages
- Maintains data integrity, donor management and reporting
Events
- Supports with the planning and execution of virtual and in-person fundraising events
- Assists in managing a local event portfolio, including itinerary, program planning and registration platform
- Participates in organizing tasks, coordinating teams and volunteers, and liaising with event management firms
- Assist with post event follow up
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, business or equivalent experience, preferred
- Minimum of one year of work experience in communications or marketing, preferably supporting fundraising within the not-for-profit sector
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once, while moving each assignment forward seamlessly, effectively and in a timely manner
- Familiarity and comfort using marketing applications and tools, customer relationship management software (CRM), content management systems (CMS), and email marketing platforms, etc.
- Collaborative team player. Enjoys learning together with teammates and helping others to succeed in their work as well. Brings a collaborative attitude to engaging with other team members and external stakeholders alike
- Salesforce, Blackbaud, Hubspot exposure preferred (not required)
