Position Description
Position: Software Engineer (SE)

Key Responsibilities:
- Strong knowledge in Demand & Supply Management.
- Handle internal fulfillment activities including resource allocation, deployment, and ensuring demand fulfillment.
- Manage core workforce management and resourcing activities including staffing, allocation, deployment, and bench management.
- Collaborate with business and delivery teams to implement staffing plans and workforce optimization strategies.
- Handle ramp-up and ramp-down planning while ensuring smooth resource transitions.
- Provide forecasting, capability, utilization, and headcount data to support workforce planning initiatives.
- Partner with managers to retain, develop, and motivate employees to achieve their fullest potential.
- Coordinate with delivery leaders and pre-sales/engagement teams to understand future business requirements.
- Handle employee engagement activities and provide career guidance within the scope of the role.
- Ensure timely reporting and analysis using MS Office tools and Excel-based dashboards.
Strategic Resource Planning & Allocation
- Manage project-wise and client-wise allocation of resources by aligning skills, timelines, and delivery requirements to ensure optimal workforce deployment.
- Perform detailed FTE calculations for ongoing and upcoming projects, validating effort distribution, billing feasibility, and capacity requirements.
- Prepare hiring projections by analyzing project pipeline, demand forecasts, client requirements, and anticipated deliverables.
- Assess current workforce capacity against future demand and recommend backfills, internal transfers, or hiring actions to maintain delivery readiness.
- Identify and highlight resource shortages, over-staffing risks, skill gaps, and utilization gaps to support timely managerial decisions.
Bench Management & Workforce Optimization
- Lead bench assessment discussions by identifying deployable talent, skill readiness, upcoming roll-offs, and suitable allocation opportunities.
- Maintain and regularly update bench dashboards by categorizing employees based on skills, availability, project fit, and deployment status.
- Coordinate with HR and Talent Acquisition teams to support targeted hiring, internal movements, and upskilling initiatives to improve deployability.
- Minimize bench aging through continuous engagement with delivery teams, allocation committees, and hiring managers to identify and place suitable talent.
- Conduct proactive assessments of resource availability versus project requirements and recommend optimal staffing alternatives.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- 7+ years of experience in Workforce Management, Resource Management, Staffing, or Bench Management.
- Strong experience in Demand & Supply Management and Resource Allocation.
- Experience in forecasting, workforce planning, utilization management, and employee engagement activities.
- Good communication, analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong logical and systematic approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools including Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros), Word, and PowerPoint.
- ERP knowledge would be an added advantage.
- MBA HR or relevant postgraduate qualification preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.
- MBA HR preferred.
