Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Workday Talent & Performance Management Module Lead to serve as the functional owner, solution architect, and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Workday Talent & Performance Management module. This role will provide strategic direction, technical leadership, and operational support for enterprise talent management solutions within Workday and integrated third-party systems.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Workday Talent & Performance Management, strong HCM process knowledge, and proven experience leading large-scale implementations, enhancements, release management, and optimization initiatives.
This role requires close collaboration with Talent Management, Total Rewards, HR, and IT stakeholders to design scalable solutions, automate processes, improve user experience, and ensure operational excellence across the Workday ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities Workday Talent & Performance Ownership
- Own and manage the Workday Talent & Performance Management module including:
- Solution design
- Configuration
- Enhancements
- Testing
- Deployment
- Ongoing support and optimization
- Act as the functional lead and SME for all Talent & Performance Management processes and system capabilities.
- Drive continuous improvements and automation initiatives within the Workday platform.
Stakeholder & Roadmap Management
- Partner with HR, Talent Management, Total Rewards, and business stakeholders to:
- Understand business pain points
- Gather requirements
- Identify optimization opportunities
- Improve process scalability and efficiency
- Develop and manage the Talent & Performance Management optimization roadmap, including:
- Project intake management
- Enhancement prioritization
- Backlog governance
- Continuous improvement initiatives
Solution Delivery & Enhancement Leadership
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex Workday initiatives and enhancements.
- Provide hands-on configuration and technical leadership for Talent & Performance Management solutions.
- Ensure solutions align with business requirements, compliance standards, and Workday best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on integrations and related HCM processes.
Release & Project Management
- Manage sprint planning activities, timelines, and deliverables.
- Lead Workday bi-annual release management activities (R1 & R2), including:
- Feature impact analysis
- Regression testing
- Enhancement adoption
- Stakeholder communication
- Coordinate deployment activities and ensure successful implementation of releases and enhancements.
Production Support & Ticket Management
- Manage and triage Talent & Performance Management-related support tickets and enhancement requests.
- Ensure incidents and requests are properly documented, prioritized, tracked, and resolved within SLA timelines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex Workday functional and technical issues.
Training & User Enablement
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Talent & Performance Management inquiries.
- Conduct training sessions and knowledge-sharing workshops for HR, managers, and business users.
- Create and maintain training materials, process documentation, and user guides.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT), integration testing, and regression testing efforts.
- Develop and maintain test plans, test scenarios, and validation procedures.
- Ensure high-quality system performance, stability, and data accuracy.
Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor and guide junior team members in:
- Workday configuration
- Troubleshooting
- Testing
- Best practices
- Promote collaboration, continuous learning, and process improvement across the team.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum 11+ years of Workday experience with deep expertise in:
- Workday Talent Management
- Workday Performance Management
- Strong functional and configuration knowledge across additional Workday modules such as:
- HCM
- Compensation
- Benefits
- Recruiting
- Absence Management
- Must hold Workday Talent & Performance Management Pro Certification.
- Additional Workday certifications are considered a plus.
- Strong understanding of:
- Workday business processes
- Security framework
- Release management
- Configuration best practices
- Proven experience leading enterprise-scale Workday implementations and optimization programs.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and sprint management.
- Exposure to Workday integrations and reporting tools.
- Experience with third-party talent management systems integrated with Workday.
- Knowledge of HR transformation and digital HR initiatives.
- Experience managing enterprise-scale support and governance models.
