Title: Workday Payroll (USA/ Canada) Specialist Location: Remote
Contract: 3–6 months Contract, Part-Time
Experience: 5–7 years
About the role:
We’re seeking an experienced Workday Payroll Specialist to support payroll design, configuration, and ongoing support for US and Canadian payrolls. This part-time contract role will work with HRIS and payroll teams to implement payroll framework, ensure accurate calculations, and maintain tax mappings and authorities.
Key responsibilities:
*Configure and support Workday payroll modules (Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking).
*Design and implement payroll framework and payroll process flows.
*Develop and validate payroll calculations, deductions, and tax mappings.
*Troubleshoot payroll issues, provide root-cause analysis and fixes.
*Lead POCs and small configuration changes; produce design/config documentation.
*Support integrations with time, benefits, and payroll systems.
*Maintain compliance with US and Canadian payroll rules; manage tax authority setups.
*Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external payroll vendors on payroll cycles and reconciliations.
*Provide knowledge transfer and ad-hoc reporting as required.
Required qualifications:
*5–7 years of hands-on Workday Payroll experience supporting US and Canadian payrolls.
*Strong expertise in Workday HCM architecture, configuration, and support.
*Deep understanding of PATT (Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking) in Workday.
*Experience building payroll framework, process flows, and payroll calculations.
*Knowledge of tax mappings, tax authorities, and payroll compliance for USA and Canada.
*Experience with POCs, design documentation, and stakeholder communication.
*Ability to work independently in a remote, part-time contracting model.
*Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
