About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Workday Configuration Manager to join our team at Fortrea. This senior-level individual contributor role is pivotal in designing, configuring, testing, and deploying Workday solutions, specifically focusing on Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking modules. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in these areas and will be responsible for ensuring that our Workday systems support our global workforce efficiently and effectively. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with various stakeholders across multiple regions. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining system integrity, optimizing processes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within our HR technology landscape.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Workday Pro Certification in Payroll, Absence, or Time Tracking modules, along with 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in Workday configuration. A strong understanding of Workday business processes, security frameworks, and experience supporting global environments is essential. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently as an individual contributor and influence stakeholders effectively. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strategic mindset are critical for success. A background supporting multi-country, multi-currency setups, as well as familiarity with SOX compliance and audit requirements, will be advantageous. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint is also required.
Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain Workday Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking modules to meet complex and evolving business requirements.
- Lead end-to-end solution delivery, including designing, configuring, testing, and deploying Workday solutions.
- Collaborate with Payroll and Absence teams to understand their needs and translate them into scalable, efficient Workday configurations.
- Perform impact analysis for new features and enhancements during Workday releases (R1 & R2), ensuring minimal disruption and maximum benefit.
- Develop comprehensive test plans, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality assurance for all configurations and deployments.
- Provide expert guidance on Workday best practices, system optimization, and process improvements.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT and HR, to ensure seamless integration, data accuracy, and system security.
- Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, processes, and system changes for audit and compliance purposes.
- Stay current with Workday releases, new features, and industry best practices; evaluate and recommend new functionalities for implementation.
- Participate actively in bi-weekly sprints, contributing to agile development cycles and continuous improvement efforts.
