About the Role
We are looking for a Workday HCM Technical Integration Consultant to join the ELCM Kanban Board under the HR Platform 2.0 program. This team supports enterprise processes across HCM, Security, Learning, Recruiting, and Talent Management, delivering and maintaining high‑quality integrations that connect Workday with downstream systems.
In this role, you will design, build, enhance, and support Workday integrations using Core Connector, Workday Studio, DT (Document Transformation), Workday Orchestrate, and Workday API. You will work closely with Workday functional consultants, technical product owners, and cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure reliable and compliant integration operations.
This position requires strong technical depth, analytical capability, and independent delivery within an Agile/Kanban environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Workday Integration Design & Development
• Build and maintain Workday integrations using:
o Core Connector
o Workday Studio
o Document Transformation (DT)
o Workday Orchestrate
o Workday REST/SOAP APIs
• Support integration requirements across:
o HCM Core (hire, job changes, termination, movement)
o Workday Security Model (domain policies, role assignments, access workflows)
o Learning (course assignments, completions, learning history)
o Recruiting (requisitions, candidates, job applications)
o Talent (goals, performance, feedback, succession processes)
• Ensure integrations follow enterprise architecture standards and Workday best practices.
2. API Engineering & Payload Management
• Build data services using Workday REST APIs, RaaS, and custom report endpoints.
• Perform data transformation using XML, JSON, XSLT, XPath, and DT activities.
• Apply strong API governance, including authentication, versioning, field mapping, and exception handling.
3. Orchestration & Automation
• Use Workday Orchestrate to build multi-step automation flows including:
o Data transformation
o Error handling and retry logic
o Notifications and logging
o Sequencing inbound/outbound events
• Automate manual HCM, Recruiting, and Talent processes through orchestrated workflows.
4. Operational Support & Kanban Delivery
• Own integration tickets within the ELCM Kanban Board — from refinement to development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Monitor and troubleshoot integration failures using Workday dashboards and logs.
• Partner with global support teams to ensure high availability of critical integrations.
5. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
• Work closely with Workday Functional Consultants, Technical Product Owners, and business partners to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Contribute to integration documentation including TDDs, mapping logic, orchestration diagrams, and runbooks.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency using:
o Workday Orchestrate enhancements
o New API capabilities
o Event-driven integration patterns
o Reusable frameworks and design standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
Workday Technical Expertise
• Hands-on experience with:
o Core Connector
o Workday Studio
o Document Transformation (DT)
o Workday Orchestrate
o Workday REST/SOAP APIs
• Strong understanding of:
o HCM Core processes
o Workday Security (roles, domain policies, business process security)
o Learning processes and data structures
o Recruiting workflows and data models
o Talent & performance management cycles
Technical Skills
• Proficiency in:
o XML
o JSON
o XSLT / XPath
o API integration patterns
o Java‑based exception handling (within Studio/DT workflows)
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across Workday and downstream systems.
Additional Knowledge
• Experience working in Agile/Kanban delivery environments.
• Understanding of Workday Reporting (Advanced Reports, Matrix Reports, RaaS).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
