Workday Functional Consultant
HCM Core, Recruiting, Compensation, Talent and Learning
Location: Bangalore, India (Hybrid, part of global Workday Team based in Germany and South Africa)
Department: IT / Global Applications
We are looking for a Workday Specialist to strengthen our global Workday support team. You will work closely with the HR Workday Product Owner and HR SMEs in Germany and support our international organization across multiple regions.
Workday went live globally in 11 countries in 2025, and we are now focusing on stabilizing the platform, optimizing processes, and expanding additional modules.
Take an active role in shaping and further developing our global Workday environment. You will help transform Workday into a powerful and sustainable platform that supports our business worldwide. This is a unique opportunity to build, improve, and make a real impact as a key contributor to our global Workday journey.
This role requires a strong technical Workday expert with a consulting mindset who can advise the business, configure solutions, and support a global HR organization.
Your Responsibilities
Workday System Support & Optimization
• Support and maintain the global Workday HCM platform and Workday Strategic Sourcing
• Provide 1st and 2nd level support for the Workday platform, acting as the main technical contact for system issues, incident resolution, and complex problem analysis
• Configure and optimize modules such as HCM Core, Recruiting, Compensation, Talent and Learning
• Analyze and resolve system issues and provide sustainable solutions
• Adjust business processes, security roles, organizational structures, and data domains
• Maintain system documentation and configuration records Business Requirements & Consulting • Collaborate with HR and business stakeholders to collect, analyze, and prioritize business requirements
• Translate business needs into effective Workday configurations and solutions
• Conduct fit-gap analysis and identify improvement opportunities
• Identify cross-module dependencies and advise on system impacts
• Recommend best practices and process optimizations based on Workday capabilities
• Support and facilitate workshops to gather requirements and define process designs Reporting & Data Insights
• Design and build custom reports, dashboards, and analytics
• Support stakeholders with reporting requirements and data analysis
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and meaningful HR insights Release & Change Management
• Manage and support Workday’s biannual releases
• Analyze release impacts and communicate changes to stakeholders
• Support testing strategy, test scenarios, and user acceptance testing
• Ensure smooth implementation of new features and system improvements Integrations & Technical Support
• Support integrations between Workday and third-party systems (e.g. Entra, SAP, Payroll)
• Assist with API, SFTP, and integration development
• Collaborate with integration teams on mapping and testing Implementation of New Workday Modules
• Support the rollout of new modules such as:
o Workday Learning
o Talent Optimization
o Advanced Compensation
o Strategic Sourcing
• Participate in design, testing, rollout, and hypercare phases
• Support data migration and legacy data validation during implementations
• Support workshops and project activities with the project team Training & User Support
• Support the creation of training materials and user documentation
• Help HR teams understand Workday processes and functionality
• Support global testing activities and guide end users during testing
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Workday processes and internal knowledge sharing Your Profile Workday Experience
• At least 5+ years of experience with Workday HCM Core and Recruiting
• Intensive experience with Compensation (Basic or Advanced)
• Experience with Learning, Talent Optimization, or Advanced Compensation beneficial
• Experience with Workday Strategic Sourcing is a plus
• Experience in Workday implementations, and/or support, and/or system support
Technical & Functional Skills
• Strong understanding of Workday configuration, troubleshooting and system support
• Experience with Workday security roles and permissions
• Experience with Workday reporting and dashboards
• Basic understanding of Workday integrations and APIs
• Experience supporting data conversion, integrations, and testing
Consulting & Analytical Skills
• Strong ability to translate business requirements into system solutions
• Ability to identify dependencies across modules and processes
• Experience advising stakeholders on best practices and system optimization
• Structured and analytical problem-solving approach
Communication & Collaboration
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in international and cross-cultural teams
• Ability to explain technical topics in clear, simple English, tailored to non-technical users and non native English speakers
• Experience supporting HR stakeholders and business teams in a global environment
• Strong intercultural awareness and ability to adapt communication to different audiences

• Degree in Information Technology, HR Information Systems, Business Informatics, or similar
• Workday certifications (HCM or Recruiting) are a plus
• Business fluent in English, written and spoken
• Additional languages such as German, Spanish, Portuguese, or Mandarin are beneficial
