About the Role
We are looking for a skilled WordPress Developer who can own the full development lifecycle from
theme and plugin development to performance optimization and third-party integrations. You will
work closely with designers, marketers, and stakeholders to deliver fast, scalable, and visually
polished web experiences. We are on the hunt for a Frontend Developer who combines strong
engineering fundamentals with a sharp design sensibility. You will be responsible for building
responsive, performant, and accessible user interfaces that delight users and support business
goals. This is an individual contributor role where you will have real ownership over what you build and ship.
What You'll Do
• Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress themes and plugins from scratch or based on
existing frameworks
• Convert Figma/XD/PSD designs into pixel-perfect, responsive WordPress templates
• Integrate third-party APIs, CRMs, marketing tools, and payment gateways
• Optimize site speed, Core Web Vitals, and SEO performance
• Manage staging, deployment, and version control using Git
• Handle WordPress multisite setups, custom post types, and ACF (Advanced Custom Fields)
• Perform regular security audits, updates, and backups
• Collaborate with designers and content teams to deliver seamless user experiences
• Troubleshoot bugs, resolve compatibility issues, and maintain existing websites
What We're Looking For
• 2–4 years of hands-on WordPress development experience
• Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (vanilla + jQuery)
• Proficiency in Next.js for building headless WordPress frontends with SSR/SSG/ISR
• Hands-on experience with the WP REST API and GraphQL (WPGraphQL) for headless
architectures
• Experience with page builders: Elementor, WPBakery, Divi, or Gutenberg blocks
• Solid understanding of MySQL and WordPress database architecture
• Experience with WooCommerce development and customization is a strong plus
• Proficiency in Git for version control and collaborative workflows
• Knowledge of web performance best practices and caching strategies (WP Rocket, LiteSpeed,
Cloudflare)
• Ability to work independently, manage timelines, and communicate progress clearly
• Strong command of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+)
• Proficiency in React.js including hooks, context API, component lifecycle, and state
management (Redux or Zustand)
• Proficiency in Next.js — SSR, SSG, ISR, App Router, API routes, and deployment on Vercel
• Experience with CSS frameworks and methodologies: Tailwind CSS, SCSS, CSS Modules, or
BEM
• Solid understanding of browser rendering, cross-browser compatibility, and responsive design
• Familiarity with build tools such as Webpack, Vite, or Parcel
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across design and engineering teams
Bonus Points If You Have
• Experience deploying Next.js frontends on Vercel or AWS with a headless CMS setup
• Familiarity with Webpack, NPM, and modern build tools
• Knowledge of WPML or Polylang for multilingual sites
• Experience with managed WordPress hosting platforms: WP Engine, Kinsta, or Pantheon
• UI/UX sensibility and an eye for clean, accessible design
