About The Role
QualiZeal is seeking an experienced and versatile Senior WordPress/Web Developer to elevate our digital presence and support our expanding online initiatives. This role involves more than just theme customization; it requires architecting and developing high-performance, scalable, and SEO-optimized websites that seamlessly integrate with our marketing systems, personalization tools, and business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of WordPress development, including custom theme and plugin creation, performance tuning, and technical SEO. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate design mockups into pixel-perfect websites, implement advanced functionalities, and ensure the digital experience aligns with our brand standards and strategic goals. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6-8 years of hands-on experience in WordPress development, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in building complex websites and applications. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is required. Candidates should have a robust command of PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks such as jQuery and React. Experience in developing custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch is essential, along with a proven track record of optimizing website performance and load times. Familiarity with REST API integrations, Git version control, CI/CD workflows, and deployment best practices is necessary. Knowledge of modern web protocols, cloud hosting, CDNs, and security best practices is also important. Additionally, candidates should have a solid understanding of SEO principles, schema markup, accessibility standards, and page speed optimization techniques. Prior experience working on enterprise-level websites or portals will be considered a plus. Strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently are vital for success in this role.
Responsibilities
The Senior WordPress/Web Developer will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining responsive, scalable WordPress websites and landing pages that meet business needs and UI/UX standards.
- Building and customizing WordPress themes and plugins tailored to specific project requirements.
- Implementing and managing custom post types, Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), taxonomies, shortcodes, and Gutenberg blocks to enhance site functionality.
- Translating detailed design mockups from Figma or Adobe XD into pixel-perfect, performant code.
- Extending WordPress capabilities beyond the CMS into custom portals and solutions for various business applications.
- Writing and maintaining custom PHP and MySQL code to enable advanced site functionalities and integrations.
- Integrating REST APIs and third-party platforms such as CRMs, marketing automation tools like HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, and other marketing tools.
- Managing version control using Git, ensuring clean coding practices, and adhering to deployment workflows.
- Performing routine site audits, backups, updates, and security monitoring to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Ensuring cross-browser compatibility and flawless functionality across all devices and platforms.
- Optimizing websites for Core Web Vitals, page speed, and mobile responsiveness using industry-standard tools like Lighthouse and GTMetrix.
- Implementing CDN, caching strategies, image compression, and lazy loading to improve load times and user experience.
- Maintaining SEO-friendly URL structures, metadata, schema markup, and accessibility standards to enhance discoverability.
- Conducting technical SEO audits and applying necessary fixes to improve search engine rankings.
- Enabling tracking of marketing metrics, user behavior, and organic traffic via tools like Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager.
- Personalizing website experiences based on audience segmentation and behavioral triggers to increase engagement and conversions.
