About The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior PHP & WordPress Developer to join our remote team. This pivotal role involves leading the development, customization, and maintenance of complex WordPress websites, themes, plugins, and eCommerce modules with an emphasis on security, performance, and scalability. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7+ years of hands-on experience in PHP and WordPress development, demonstrating proficiency in custom theme and plugin creation, as well as expertise in PHP frameworks such as Laravel, CodeIgniter, or CakePHP. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on international projects for clients primarily based in the USA, UK, and Australia, contributing to innovative digital solutions that prioritize user experience and search engine visibility. The role requires a dedicated professional capable of leading projects independently, mentoring junior developers, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, including digital marketing, project management, and client stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7+ years of comprehensive experience in PHP and WordPress development, including custom themes and plugins.
- Strong expertise in Core PHP and familiarity with PHP frameworks such as Laravel, CodeIgniter, or CakePHP.
- Advanced skills in WordPress customization, WooCommerce, API integrations, hooks, filters, and custom post types.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery, with a focus on UI/UX best practices.
- Deep understanding of MySQL database architecture, query optimization, and data security.
- Experience with web performance optimization techniques, caching strategies, and Core Web Vitals.
- Solid knowledge of web security standards, OWASP guidelines, and secure coding practices.
- Proven ability to develop and integrate REST APIs, third-party services, payment gateways, and CRMs.
- Experience working with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards and responsive design principles.
- Excellent analytical skills to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Mandatory expertise in AEO-SEO (Answer Engine Optimization / AI Search Readiness) strategies.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, customization, and ongoing maintenance of high-quality WordPress websites, themes, plugins, and WooCommerce modules, ensuring enterprise-level standards for security and scalability.
- Build, enhance, and support applications using Core PHP and frameworks such as Laravel, CodeIgniter, or CakePHP.
- Implement SEO strategies focusing on Answer Engine Optimization, including structured data, schema markup, and AI-friendly content optimization to improve search visibility and AI indexing.
- Customize and optimize front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery to create responsive, pixel-perfect user experiences.
- Ensure websites meet Core Web Vitals, performance benchmarks, and best development practices through caching, CDN integration, and code optimization.
- Develop and integrate REST APIs, third-party services, payment gateways, and automation tools to extend platform functionalities.
- Oversee end-to-end project delivery, managing timelines, quality standards, and client expectations effectively.
- Mentor and guide junior developers, conducting code reviews and enforcing development standards to maintain code quality.
- Prioritize security by adhering to OWASP guidelines, implementing secure coding practices, and maintaining platform stability.
- Collaborate with project managers, digital marketing teams, designers, and clients to translate business objectives into technical solutions.
- Ensure compliance with accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1, cross-browser compatibility, and responsive behavior across devices.
- Document development processes, maintain structured workflows, and communicate progress clearly to stakeholders.
