About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior PHP & WordPress Developer to join our dynamic team remotely. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of solid experience in PHP and WordPress customization, with a proven track record of developing, maintaining, and optimizing complex websites and web applications. This role involves leading the development of custom WordPress themes, plugins, and WooCommerce modules, ensuring enterprise-level quality, security, and scalability. As a senior team member, you will oversee multiple projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior developers. Your expertise in PHP frameworks such as Laravel, CodeIgniter, or CakePHP, combined with your front-end skills in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery, will be instrumental in delivering high-performance digital solutions. The role demands a proactive approach, excellent project management skills, and a keen eye for detail to meet stringent quality standards and client expectations.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in PHP and WordPress development, including extensive work with custom themes and plugins. Proficiency in Core PHP and familiarity with frameworks like Laravel, CodeIgniter, or CakePHP are essential. Strong expertise in WordPress customization, WooCommerce, and third-party API integrations is required. Candidates must demonstrate excellent command over HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery, along with a deep understanding of MySQL database architecture and query optimization. Knowledge of web performance optimization, caching strategies, and Core Web Vitals is crucial. A solid understanding of web security best practices, OWASP guidelines, and secure coding standards is mandatory. Experience working with REST APIs, CRMs, payment gateways, and automation tools will be highly valued. Additionally, familiarity with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards and project management methodologies such as Agile or Scrum is preferred. Candidates should also have excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and maintenance of custom WordPress websites, ensuring enterprise-level security, scalability, and performance.
- Design, build, and enhance WooCommerce modules, themes, and plugins tailored to client requirements.
- Develop applications using Core PHP and PHP frameworks such as Laravel, CodeIgniter, or CakePHP.
- Implement and optimize websites for AEO-SEO (Answer Engine Optimization), including structured data, schema markup, and AI-friendly content handling.
- Customize front-end experiences utilizing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery, ensuring responsive, pixel-perfect UI/UX designs.
- Ensure adherence to Core Web Vitals, performance optimization, caching strategies, and best development practices.
- Develop and integrate REST APIs, third-party services, CRMs, payment gateways, and automation systems.
- Manage end-to-end project delivery, meeting deadlines, quality benchmarks, and client expectations.
- Mentor and review code for junior developers, fostering a culture of high-quality development standards.
- Prioritize security best practices, including OWASP guidelines, to maintain platform stability and safety.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Digital Marketing Teams, and clients to translate business objectives into technical solutions.
- Ensure compliance with accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1, cross-browser compatibility, and responsive design principles.
- Document workflows, plan workloads, and communicate effectively to ensure project success.
