Position Statement
The Office Assistant will be responsible for helping the Assistant Transportation Director and the Transportation Support Specialist. The position will provide support for other office staff by answering phones, taking transportation requests, using transportation scheduling system, providing information about services, reporting, filing and clerical work. Should have flexible work schedule
Essential Functions

Answer office phone and provide callers with accurate information about services, routes, & program eligibility

Use the Scheduling System to schedule trips and provided callers and drivers with information related to scheduled trips, changes in schedule, daily manifest, and trip locations

Enter in daily Tic Sheets into Excel/Google Sheets

Print out various flyers for the drivers to put on their vehicles

Communicate with drivers on two-way radio

Attends required training(s)

Maintain, update, and manage all Transportation Staff required trainings.

Use all Apple Country software and maintain a working knowledge of their requirements.

Performs related duties as assigned

High School diploma or equivalent

Basic computer skills (including Microsoft Excel and Google)

Experience working in an office environment, answering phones and dealing with the general public in a courteous and professional manner

Flexible work schedule with varying work days and hours

General knowledge of Henderson County's geography & demographic makeup
-
Sit for extended periods
-
Submit to random FTA/NCDOT drug and alcohol testing
