Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled IBM i / AS400 developer with hands-on Warehouse Management System (WMS) development and support experience. The ideal candidate combines deep RPG/RPGLE/CL programming expertise with a strong understanding of end-to-end WMS business processes, EDI integrations, and third-party interfaces on the IBM i platform.
WMS Development & Support (PRIMARY FOCUS)
- Design, develop, and maintain WMS applications on IBM i using RPG, SQLRPGLE, and CLLE
- Own end-to-end WMS module development covering:
- Receiving & Putaway — inbound shipment processing, license plating, directed putaway logic
- Picking — wave management, carton/pallet building, zone/batch/cluster picking strategies
- Packing — pack station workflows, carton manifesting, weight validation
- Loading & Shipment — dock door assignment, load sequencing, BOL/manifest generation
- Inventory Management — cycle counts, adjustments, lot/serial/expiry tracking
- Returns / RMA — reverse logistics and put-away processing
- Provide day-to-day WMS production support, root cause analysis, and issue resolution
- Participate in WMS upgrades, patches, and version migration projects
IBM i / AS400 Development
- Write and maintain programs in RPG, SQLRPGLE (free format and Fix)
- Develop and optimize Embedded SQL queries, stored procedures, and DB2 for i data access
- Debug and tune batch jobs, job schedulers, and subsystem configurations
Integrations & Interfaces
- Develop and maintain interfaces with Order Management Systems (OMS) and ERP platforms
- Build and support EDI integrations using BizTalk middleware:
- 940 – Warehouse Shipping Order
- 945 – Warehouse Shipping Advice
- 943 – Warehouse Stock Transfer Shipment Advice
- 946 – Warehouse Stock Transfer Receipt Advice
- 856 – Advance Ship Notice (ASN)
- 997 – Functional Acknowledgement
- Build and consume REST/SOAP Web Services and APIs from IBM i using ILE service programs
- Manage file-based integrations via FTP and SFTP (inbound/outbound data feeds)
Label Printing & RF Devices
- Design and maintain shipping and warehouse labels using MarkMagic on iSeries
- Support RF device workflows (hand-held scanners) — gun-based picking, receiving, and putaway screens
- Troubleshoot RF device connectivity, label printer queues, and zebra/thermal label output .
