About The Role
As Lead Business Data Analyst at Dyson, you will play a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will be responsible for leading complex data analysis, modeling, and visualization activities to generate actionable insights that support strategic initiatives. Collaborating closely with Data Product Managers, Data Owners, and cross-functional teams globally, you will develop innovative analytics and AI-powered solutions that enhance business processes and deliver measurable outcomes. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, stakeholder engagement, and leadership to ensure the successful operationalization of data and AI initiatives. You will also champion data governance, privacy, and responsible AI practices, ensuring that Dyson’s data strategies align with ethical standards and industry best practices.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, complemented by extensive experience in data analytics and AI. Proven expertise in SQL, Python, PowerBI, Tableau, and other data analysis tools is essential. Experience working within Agile frameworks, managing product backlogs, and translating business needs into technical requirements is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. A proactive mindset, ownership mentality, and a passion for continuous learning are key attributes for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute complex data analysis, modeling, and visualization activities to extract insights that inform strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with Data Product Managers and business stakeholders to gather requirements, define analytics solutions, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Identify and develop AI-powered solutions to enhance data insights, automate processes, and optimize operational efficiency.
- Translate business needs into technical features, epics, and user stories, supporting Agile delivery methodologies and acting as Scrum Master when necessary.
- Work closely with engineering teams to operationalize automated data pipelines and deploy data science models, balancing technical dependencies and project timelines.
- Document and improve data workflows, pipelines, and processes to ensure quality, scalability, and security standards are maintained.
- Create reports and self-service dashboards, effectively communicating complex findings and AI-generated insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Promote data governance, privacy, and ethical AI practices across all analytics initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for workflow simplification, process automation, and data optimization to enhance operational efficiency.
- Share knowledge and best practices across teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Stay informed on emerging data and AI trends, advocating for the adoption of advanced analytics, generative AI, and machine learning technologies where appropriate.
