About The Role
GyanSys is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer / Consultant to join its expanding Data & Analytics practice. This role is critical in designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise-scale data engineering solutions across modern cloud and data platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of data pipeline architecture, data modeling, and cloud-based data engineering tools. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects that involve building scalable data pipelines, integrating data from multiple sources, and implementing modern data architectures such as Lakehouse and Medallion Architecture.
The role requires strong technical expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Engineering, Databricks, PySpark, Spark SQL, and Python. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with architects, business stakeholders, data scientists, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality analytics solutions that enable data-driven decision-making. This position offers the chance to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to enterprise-wide data transformation initiatives and gaining exposure to the latest cloud and data technologies.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of four years of professional experience in data engineering or related roles is required. Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate, or Databricks Certified Data Engineer are highly preferred. Experience working with global clients and distributed teams is advantageous, along with a strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance standards.
Applicants should demonstrate proficiency in cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, and have hands-on experience with SQL, relational databases, and data modeling. Knowledge of BI tools like Power BI or Tableau, along with familiarity with streaming technologies such as Kafka or Azure Event Hubs, will be considered a plus. Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines to support enterprise data platforms, ensuring data quality, security, and governance.
- Create data engineering solutions utilizing Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, PySpark, Spark SQL, and Python, tailored to client requirements.
- Build data pipelines for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources, including SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, APIs, cloud storage, ERP systems, and SaaS applications.
- Implement and optimize Databricks notebooks, Spark jobs, Delta Lake pipelines, and Databricks Workflows to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Apply modern data architecture principles such as Medallion Architecture and Lakehouse/Data Platform frameworks to ensure scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Design and implement data models, data warehouses, data lakes, and Lakehouse solutions that meet business needs and performance goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including solution architects, business analysts, and data scientists, to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub, and related tools to streamline deployment and version control processes.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement performance improvements to ensure system stability and reliability.
- Participate in technical reviews, documentation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to promote best practices within the team.
- Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
