About the Role
BitDelta India is looking for a strategic, hands-on, and experienced Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead and strengthen our cybersecurity and information security function. This is a leadership role responsible for safeguarding the organization's digital assets, exchange infrastructure, customer data, cloud environment, wallet systems, applications, and internal platforms against evolving cyber threats.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in cybersecurity, risk management, regulatory compliance, and security architecture, while fostering a strong security-first culture across the organization. You will work closely with Engineering, Product, Compliance, and Leadership teams to ensure our platform remains secure, resilient, scalable, and compliant with industry and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Define and execute the organization's overall cybersecurity and information security strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Lead and manage the end-to-end Information Security function across the organization.
• Oversee Security Operations (SecOps), including threat monitoring, vulnerability management, incident detection, incident response, digital forensics, and remediation.
• Drive regular Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing (VAPT) initiatives and ensure timely resolution of identified risks.
• Secure cloud infrastructure, exchange platforms, APIs, wallet infrastructure, applications, databases, and internal systems through industry best practices.
• Design, implement, and continuously improve security frameworks, governance policies, identity and access management (IAM), privileged access controls, and security awareness programs.
• Conduct enterprise-wide risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address cybersecurity risks.
• Ensure compliance with FIU-IND, CERT-In, DPDP Act, ISO 27001, and other relevant cybersecurity frameworks.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, DevOps, Compliance, Legal, and Executive Leadership.
• Develop business continuity, disaster recovery, and cyber resilience strategies.
• Manage third-party security assessments, vendor risk management, and external security audits.
• Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing Information Security team.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in Information Security, Cybersecurity, or Technology Risk, with at least 5 years in a senior security leadership role.
• Prior experience within cryptocurrency exchanges, fintech, financial services, digital assets, payments, or highly regulated technology environments is preferred.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, network security, application security, API security, IAM, encryption, and wallet security.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, or CEH are highly desirable.
