Job details:
Own the Kubernetes platform end to end — cluster design, deployment, upgrades, patching, and decommissioning across multiple datacenters and cloud environments.
• Design and operate cluster networking and storage at the Kubernetes platform layer — CNI configuration, software load balancing, ingress, NetworkPolicy, cluster DNS, and persistent volumes — on top of VMware vSphere, Hyper-V infrastructure and AKS.
• Implement and manage IaC — author and maintain Terraform and Ansible modules for consistent, version-controlled provisioning of cluster nodes and supporting infrastructure.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment of workloads onto Kubernetes across environments.
• Ensure platform reliability — define SLOs, implement health probes and rollout strategies (blue/green, canary), lead incident response, and produce blameless postmortems.
• Harden the platform — enforce pod security, network policies, RBAC, admission control, secrets management, and image scanning in line with CIS and internal compliance standards.
• Setup the observability stack (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Alertmanager, Azure Monitor) so application teams can self-serve metrics, logs, and alerts.
• Integrate on-prem clusters with Azure where required — Azure Arc, federated identity, hybrid networking, and workload portability between on-prem and AKS.
• Optimize capacity and cost — right-sizing, autoscaling policies, node pool design, VM right-sizing on vSphere/Hyper-V, resource governance / tagging.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, security, network, datacenter operations) to streamline software delivery and enforce platform best practices.
• Mentor and train other engineers on Kubernetes and DevOps practices; contribute to internal documentation, runbooks, and paved-path tooling.
