About AME:
AME is a multidisciplinary craft research and design studio. Our work spans researching traditional crafts on ground and translating that research into unique products. A core part of how we work is spending time with artisan communities across India, building our research directly from that engagement.
We are looking for a Chief of Staff to work closely with the founder and help run the operational and strategic elements of the studio.
About the Role:
As Chief of Staff, you will act as a trusted right hand to the founder, helping prioritize what matters most and connecting the dots across design, production, artisan partnerships, and communications. The role will at times require travel with the founder and the team, whether for craft cluster visits or other business trips. When the founder is traveling, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day to day operations of the studio.
Key Responsibilities
- Sit in on meetings and conversations, listen closely, and collate notes and key takeaways
- Act as a sounding board when the founder is reviewing and discussing that information
- Manage the founder’s priorities, calendar, and follow ups, ensuring nothing important falls through the cracks
- Coordinate across teams, including design, production, artisan partners, and external collaborators such as photographers, CA’s etc
- Prepare briefs and talking points for panels, pitches, jury, and client conversations
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and team operations as the studio grows
What We’re Looking For:
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a Chief of Staff, business operations, project management, or founder’s office role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, with the ability to juggle multiple threads without losing sight of priorities
- Being able to build structure in ambiguous situations
- Discreet and trustworthy with sensitive business and personal information
- An interest in design, craft, or textiles is a strong plus, though not mandatory
- Based in or willing to relocate to Bengaluru
