🚨 We’re Hiring | Senior Head – Quality (QA/QC)
Great Weld Engineering Private Limited is looking for an experienced Senior Head – Quality (QA/QC) to lead and strengthen its quality function across structural steel fabrication, electroforged gratings and allied industrial fabrication.
Based in Indapur, Maharashtra, with a temporary assignment at Miraj, Maharashtra, this role is ideal for a senior QA/QC professional with 10–15 years of relevant experience, including 4–5 years in a managerial or departmental leadership role. The compensation is approximately ₹1,00,000/month, negotiable based on experience and suitability, with the role reporting to the Director/Senior Management.
The selected professional will independently lead the complete QA/QC function, drive the Quality Management System, implement QAPs, QCPs, ITPs and inspection procedures, and oversee quality from incoming raw materials and traceability through fabrication, fit-up, welding, electroforging, dimensional inspection, NDT, surface preparation, painting, galvanizing, final inspection and dispatch. The role will also involve managing WPS/PQRs, welder qualifications, calibration, client/consultant/third-party inspections, NCRs, CAPA, root-cause analysis, audits and quality documentation, while reducing rework, rejections and quality defects.
We’re seeking a Mechanical, Civil, Production, Metallurgy or Welding Engineering graduate/diploma holder with strong hands-on fabrication-shop experience and sound knowledge of IS 2062, AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, ASTM, BS 4592, ISO 9001:2015, welding inspection, NDT, painting/DFT, hot-dip galvanizing, QAP/ITP documentation, NCR/CAPA/8D and digital quality reporting. Experience with EPC, refinery, power, infrastructure, industrial, port, data-centre or large commercial projects is preferred. Certifications such as CSWIP 3.1, AWS-CWI, NDT Level II/III or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor will be an advantage.
Beyond technical expertise, the ideal candidate should be a strong quality leader and team builder, capable of working collaboratively with production and project teams, handling clients and inspection agencies, taking ownership of quality issues, driving continuous improvement, and working hands-on at the shop floor with willingness to travel when required. Success will be measured through lower complaints, NCRs, rejections and rework; improved first-pass acceptance; timely inspection/documentation closure; fewer welding, dimensional and finishing defects; stronger inspection performance; and improved customer quality ratings and repeat business.
