Profile Hiring for: Analyst: Engagement & Growth
Location: Bangalore
Whom are we looking for?
A sharp business graduate with 2 to 3 years of exposure to the startup or VC ecosystem, joining as part of the Founders office. You will sit at the intersection of client engagement and business growth. You should be equally comfortable writing a crisp update for a fund partner and putting together an accurate monthly numbers pack.
What will be your key responsibilities?
A. VC Relationship Management
- Build, own, and strengthen relationships with VC funds, family offices and angel networks.
- Conduct regular in-person meetings with the above parties to understand their investment thesis, sector preferences, cheque sizes, stage focus, and current deployment priorities.
- Maintain a live database of recent investments, active mandates, and key decision-makers.
- Build a high-quality pipeline of investment opportunities for VC partners by curating and sharing vetted startups aligned with their investment mandate.
- Position Treelife as the preferred ecosystem partner for portfolio support across legal, finance, tax, compliance, HR, and strategic advisory services.
B. Portfolio Engagement
- Develop and execute engagement initiatives for VC portfolios through newsletters, ecosystem updates, regulatory explainers, webinars, and curated knowledge content.
- Identify fundraising opportunities within Treelife's existing client base by engaging founders, understanding business performance, runway, fundraising timelines, and capital requirements.
C. Outbound Founder Acquisition and Ecosystem Development
- Proactively scout high-potential startups through ecosystem events, founder communities, accelerators, incubators, LinkedIn, referrals, and market research.
- Represent Treelife at startup conferences, demo days, VC summits, accelerator programs, founder meetups, and networking events.
- Set-up Partner meetings with founders to understand their growth plans, financial runway, fundraising intentions, and advisory needs.
D. Business reporting
- Prepare and maintain reports on departmental P&L, revenue and wallet size per client for monthly reviews
- Highlight expansion opportunities and flag accounts where share of wallet is shrinking, for the leadership team to act on
E. Internal coordination
- Work with practice teams to source content inputs and convert their technical work into client-facing material
- Support the founders office on growth experiments and account planning inputs
What are the key requirements for the role?
- Graduate or postgraduate in business, commerce, economics or a related field
- 2 to 3 years of experience, with demonstrated interest in the startup or VC ecosystem (fund work, founder office stints, ecosystem communities or startup operating roles all count)
- Strong writing skills: you can turn a technical input into something a founder or fund partner will actually read
- Comfort with numbers: Excel or Sheets fluency, and the discipline to keep reports accurate
- Bias for ownership of your work; this role has no playbook yet and you will help write it
- Highly organized. You close loops. You follow up. You do not drop things
- Exposure to startup, legal, financial services, or professional services environments is a plus
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, lean team where you will build process, not just follow it
