Job details:
We are looking for an experienced Costing Engineer to join our Automation business.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain standard cost for automation machines and systems.
• Analyze and estimate the cost of purchased components, fabricated parts, machined parts, and assemblies.
• Prepare BOM-based costing and support product cost optimization.
• Understand manufacturing processes, machining, fabrication, sheet metal, and standard machine elements.
• Work closely with Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams to ensure accurate product costing.
• Support new product costing, design changes, and value engineering initiatives.
• Knowledge of machine commissioning/missioning parts and costing will be an added advantage.
• Experience with ERP systems and strong Excel skills is preferred.
Preferred Experience:
• 6-10 years in product costing or manufacturing costing.
• Experience in automation, special purpose machines (SPM), industrial equipment, or machine building.
• Strong analytical skills with a good understanding of manufacturing processes and standard costing.

Qualifications
- Strong cost estimation and analysis skills, including experience with BOM costing, labor and overhead calculation, and cost breakdowns for engineering and manufacturing projects.
- Knowledge of automation systems, precision machining, or electronics manufacturing processes, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD models.
- Proficiency in Excel and costing-related software or ERP tools, with solid numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams in engineering, production, procurement, and sales.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet timelines in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related technical field; relevant experience in costing or estimation is preferred.
- Familiarity with industry standards, vendor sourcing, and market price benchmarking; exposure to automotive, aerospace, defence, or electronics sectors is an advantage.
